About Big-leaf Mahogany
Upright, dense, semi-evergreen tree with a neat oval crown. Shade trees are the backbone of a landscape. They cool buildings and parking, filter dust and last for generations. Our Big-leaf Mahogany trees are grown to 12–20 ft so you get a finished look on planting day, without waiting years for a sapling to mature.
Planting a mature Big-leaf Mahogany
Use a large pit (at least 3 × 3 ft for a 12 ft tree). Mix compost into the backfill, form a watering basin around the trunk and fix three guy-stakes until roots anchor.
Care after planting
Water deeply twice a week in the first summer. Mulch the basin to hold moisture. Formative pruning in the first two years builds a strong, well-balanced crown.
